Theory test problems

Passing a driving theory test is probably a piece of cake for most people, but for my friend Tom, it´s much more complicated. He has already failed it three times. I guess his problem is lack of motivation. He has always emphasised the fact that he would not be a good driver. He has never wanted to become one and the only reason why he enrolled on a driving test was because he was afraid that he would lose his job. His boss needed people who could drive. I guess this is why Tom was unable to concentrate on the lectures and later failed his theory test. I advised him to take it easy. Sometimes he seemed to be pushing himself too much. How can you succeed if you are constantly forcing yourself to do something that other people tell you to do? If I were Tom, I would cycle to work to show my boss that I do not really enjoy driving a car. And I have to admit that I don"t have a driving licence either. I enrolled on a course a long time ago. It was when I was eighteen. But I resigned after a few weeks because I did not think it was something for me. I did not even take my theory test. I sometimes regret my decision because if I had completed the course, I wouldn"t have to take a train every day now. But I don"t think I would enjoy driving anyway.
